Once called Castri Sancti Viti, the borough of San Vito was founded by the Schiavoni (a population of slavic origin) who to escape the Saracen's persecutions, took refuge in the opposite costs of the Adriatic, settling in the Pugliese area. During the Middle Ages The small borough grew, thanks to the protection offered by the Norman Tower. Founded by the Norman Beomondo D’altavilla, the inhabitants of the nearby farmhouses moved to San Vito to escape the Turks’s raids. Surrounding the tower originated the heart of the old town called li stratodde . In this borough we can find San Giovanni's facade, the Sant’annunziata Church where there is the Museum of Rural civilization the Dentice di Frasso Medieval Castle, the Madre Church (or Mother’s Church) and the San Biagio Crypt (an orthodox church) And it is in the San Vito borough that we find the Ex Fadda, an urban coworking lab, heart of different social and artistic activities , that will be the location for our workshop, in which there also is Exfood, a restaurant that also has a disabled staff (that offers work to the disabled). The festival relies on this facility, and intends to create a space that includes and engages social integration, artistic exchange and multiculturalism .
